Even though the city of Teplice and the neighbouring municipalities are considerably affected by the unemployment at present (Major changes in the area of economics have happened due to the transformation process begun in 1991. Several important industrial premises were closed and some state companies were sold off where in number of them the activity was ceased.) it disposes of possibilities of housing, social infrastructure and utility lines development for the purpose of labour force import support. Teplice, the gas distribution is provided by the company Severočeská plynárenská, a.s., the production and distribution of heat and electricity is provided by United Energy, a.s.)
A railroad and road traffic artery leads through the The Teplice county. The majority of railroads were constructed in the last century in the county. It was overloaded due to former surface coal mining in the past.
