Transportation and Time tables

Municipal public transportation of Teplice is operated by the company Veolia Transport Teplice s.r.o., which also provides connection to the nearest towns and municipalities (Bořislav, Bystřany, Bžany, Cínovec, Duchcov, Háj u Duchcova, Dubí, Hrob, Chlumec, Jeníkov, Kostomlaty p. M., Košťany, Kladruby,  Novosedlice, Proboštov, Újezdeček, Zabrušany, Krupka, Fojtovice, Lahošť, Mikulov, Modlany, Moldava, Osek, Přestanov, Rtyně n/B, Řehlovice, Srbice, Ústí n/L, Žalany a Žim). Dopravní Podnik operates twenty six lines in total in Teplice (including so called recreational lines and special lines to shopping centres Olympia and InterSpar). Trolley-bus lines are marked with numbers 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, bus lines with numbers 120-129, 30, 132, 33, 136-139, 40, 141-148.

If you would like to take advantage of public transportation in Teplice you needn’t purchase advanced tickets, as fares are paid directly to the driver upon entering the vehicle.

• The first possibility is to pay fares in cash by putting coins in the box by the driver. Individual rides can be paid for in this manner. Riders over the age of 15 pay CZK 15 for transit in the 1st tariff zone, children between the ages of 6 and 15 pay CZK 11, and upon transferring to a different connection this fare must be paid again. In the 2nd tariff zone riders over the age of 15 pay CZK 12, while children between the ages of 6 and 15 pay CZK 8. In the event that both the 1st and 2nd tariff zones are used riders over the age of 15 pay CZK 27 and children between the ages of 6 and 15 pay CZK 19.

• Fares can also be paid using chip cards. In this case riders over the age of 15 pay CZK 14 for the first connection in the 1st tariff zone, CZK 11,20 in the 2nd tariff zone, CZK 25,20 for rides through both tariff zones, and only CZK 11,10 for the second connection in the 1st tariff zone and CZK 8,20 for the second connection in the 2nd tariff zone. Children from 6 to 15 pay CZK 10,20 for the first connection in the 1st tariff zone and CZK 7,40 in the 2nd tariff zone, CZK 17,60 for rides through both tariff zones, CZK 7,40 for a transfer in the 1st tariff zone, and CZK 5,20 for a transfer in the 2nd tariff zone. Transfers must be made within 30 minutes from the beginning of the ride. When a chip card is used for a two-zone ride this time limit for transfers is extended to 60 minutes and the second connection is free of charge. Chip cards can be purchased in advance at Benešové náměstí No. 5 (Beneš Square No. 5) in the centre of Teplice, on the north side of the square in the arcade by the public transportation stop.  A final possibility is depositing a time period on the chip card. Riders then use this as a pass for the entire period of its validity.

Tourists as well as local residents enjoy rides in historic vehicles (trolleybus line no. 11 and bus line no. 40). Another useful feature is the "cycle bus" offered in the summer to transport bikers and their bikes between the Teplice main train station and Cínovec, Pomezí (line no. 31). Special bus line likewise provide free transportation to the Olympia Shopping Centre (line no. 30). Most important lines:

Teplice baths can be reached from the Beneš Square via lines 4, 121 (Saturdays and Sundays only) and 143 where the main transfer stops are Hlavní nádraží (Main train station), Benešovo náměstí (square), Okresní policie (County police department) and Okresní soud (County court). The hospital can be reached by trolley-buses 2, 4, 5, 7 and 12 and buses marked with numbers 122, 124, 126, 127, 128, 132, 136, 137, 138, 139, 143 and 145. You can travel to the Ústí nad Labem town (to the Masaryk´s Hospital and The Northern Terrace) via line 137.
