The Business Academy

The Business Academy

It was built during 1894-1895 according to the plans of the Teplice builder Ing. A. Siegmund on a rocky nose at the end of today’s Havlíček’s banks as a building for the Teplice gymnasium. Originally, the gymnasium was located in the building of today’s Regional Library and it was the new building where the school could enjoy more extensive and representative room. The rocky nose the building is built upon was called Mont de Ligne according to its owner – prince de Ligne, the father-in-law to the Teplice prince Jan Nepomuk Clary-Aldringen, who fell in love with this place very much. A small pseudo-gothic look-out pavilion used to stay in front of the building. Today the building serves as the Teplice Business Academy.
